Overview

Ticketdotter is a live event ticketing and management platform built specifically for event promoters. We cover live music, comedy, boxing, sports events, business conferences, and more. We are live, revenue-generating, and growing — having processed ticket sales across many events, with 200+ promoters on the platform, and partnerships with O2 Academy Bristol and the Association of Independent Music. We are a bootstrapped startup built by a small founding team. Everyone who joins us at this stage has the opportunity to grow with the business. This role starts as a flexible freelance engagement but has a clear path to full-time employment for the right person.

The role

We are looking for a creative, organised, and platform-savvy Social Media Manager to take ownership of Ticketdotter's social media presence across Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, LinkedIn, and X (Twitter). You will be responsible for growing our audience, driving engagement, and converting social media attention into platform signups and brand awareness within the live events industry.

This is a 4-hour-per-week role structured around output and results rather than time spent at a desk. You will have creative freedom within the Ticketdotter brand and direct access to the founding team. We care about what gets made and the results it drives — not when or where you work.

Ticketdotter has built real traction with zero paid marketing and zero social media management. This role exists to take that foundation and turn it into a content engine that consistently attracts promoters, talents, and event-goers to the platform. You will be the voice of the brand online.

What you'll do

  • Plan, create, and schedule content across Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, LinkedIn, and X
  • Produce short-form video content (Reels, TikToks) — self-filmed, using UGC scripts, or directing creators
  • Write engaging captions that reflect the Ticketdotter brand tone — confident, direct, built for the events world
  • Create branded graphics and stories using Canva or equivalent tools
  • Build and maintain a monthly content calendar aligned with key events, seasons, and platform milestones
  • Repurpose content efficiently across platforms to maximise output within the 4-hour weekly allocation
  • Monitor and respond to comments, DMs, and mentions in a timely and on-brand manner
  • Engage with promoters, venues, artists, and industry accounts to build visibility within the events community
  • Identify and engage with relevant conversations, trends, and hashtags in the live events space
  • Build relationships with UGC creators and micro-influencers for future content partnerships
  • Track and report on follower growth, reach, impressions, engagement rate, and link clicks monthly
  • Monitor what content performs best and use that data to inform future content decisions
  • Support paid social campaigns with organic content that reinforces ad messaging when required
  • Report monthly to the CEO with a concise performance summary and recommendations
  • Ensure all content is consistent with Ticketdotter's visual identity — green on black, bold typography, confident tone
  • Maintain a content library of approved assets, templates, and brand materials

About you

  • Demonstrable experience managing social media accounts with measurable growth
  • Strong understanding of Instagram and TikTok content formats, algorithms, and best practices
  • Ability to create scroll-stopping short-form video content
  • Confident written communication — you can write a caption that sounds human, not corporate
  • Self-managed and organised — you can plan and deliver a content calendar without being chased
  • Familiar with Canva or equivalent design tools
  • Understanding of the live events, music, or entertainment industry

Experience that helps (but isn't required)

  • Experience growing accounts in the music, events, or entertainment space
  • Familiarity with social media scheduling tools (Later, Buffer, or similar)
  • Basic video editing skills (CapCut, Premiere Rush, or similar)
  • Experience with Meta Ads Manager for boosting posts or running paid campaigns
  • Understanding of influencer marketing and UGC content strategies
  • A personal network within the UK events or creative industry

Terms & important information

Initial contract
This role begins as a freelance engagement for an initial contract of 30 hours, equivalent to approximately 7.5 weeks at 4 hours per week. The initial contract is designed to allow both parties to assess the working relationship, creative alignment, and performance before committing to an ongoing arrangement.
Hours and flexibility
The role is 4 hours per week. There are no fixed working hours — you manage your own time and deliver against agreed weekly outputs. We do not track hours minute by minute. We care about content being published, scheduled, and performing.
Rate and payment
The rate of pay is £16.00 per hour. Payment is made monthly in arrears via BACS bank transfer upon receipt of a valid invoice. You are responsible for submitting an invoice each month covering the hours worked in that period. As a self-employed contractor, you are responsible for your own tax and National Insurance contributions.
Remote working
This role is fully remote. You may work from any location. A reliable internet connection, access to a device capable of creating and editing content, and responsiveness during agreed communication windows are required.
Intellectual property
All content created for Ticketdotter as part of this engagement is the intellectual property of Ticketdotter Ltd from the point of creation. This includes but is not limited to: graphics, video content, captions, campaign concepts, and any other creative materials produced in the course of this role.
Path to full-time
This is not a permanent freelance role by design. The right person who hits their KPIs, understands the Ticketdotter brand, and demonstrates the ability to build our social presence will be offered a full-time employed position. The initial contract is the start of that journey, not a ceiling.

KPIs & path to full-time

Performance will be reviewed at the end of the initial 30-hour contract and monthly thereafter. Consistent achievement of the KPIs below, combined with a positive working relationship and demonstrated cultural fit, will trigger a conversation about transitioning into full-time employment.
